Crisis Week 2

Ferru won Crisis Week 2 with a team that included, most notably (at least to me), Spectre. I learned something interesting about theme teams that I didn't consider previously that left my Teen Titans at a marked disadvantage. With the rule that a theme team must consist of one character for every 100 or 150 points (depending on keyword), I didn't end up pulling together a smaller group of heavy hitters that could easily overcome Spectre's Invulnerability/Impervious clicks. I also bunched my figures up the whole game, which got really bad when Ferru pulled out Spectre's "I'm a giant figure and can therefore do this really well" Quake.

So, in conclusion, the Titans were righteously judged and I'm really glad I got Spectre in a booster last week.

Which Titans did you play?

Spectre just seems to be a huge heavy hitter; haven't checked his stats but I know Brian's mentioned how awesome he'd be in a larger point game w/ the JSA ability. I'm sure we'll see him pop up again!

Well, you remember how, during Week 1, I mentioned I was really impressed with the new cheap Teen Titan characters like the Kid Flash and Speedy that Ferru used that week? My team was a couple of those guys backed up by my Nightwing/Starfire duo. I'm still happy with the way the characters work, and even became impressed with the duo figure (virtually all the damage I did to Spectre was due to its Perplexing up of other characters' damage values), but, you know, I still lost.

Also, maybe you mean JSA keyword, because Spectre has the Quintessence team ability, which, among other things, makes his tricks immune to Outwitting. My Gotham City theme team (which I also brought but didn't use) probably would have fallen even more firmly flat on their faces.

I just noticed that the JSA ability mentioned above is part of one of Spectre's custom powers, so that explains the misunderstanding. Also, wow.
